On Tuesday evening, we had a date night in the city. We arrived early and had dinner at the Asbury. My hubby, who was a food photographer for a magazine when we met, proceeded to take many pictures of our dinner.
Afterwards, we walked to the Blumenthal Performing Arts Center to watch the Broadway Musical, The Book of Mormon. They are winners of nine Tony Awards including best musical. I especially enjoyed the songs "Hello" and "I Believe".
I'm not sure whether Latter Day Saints appreciate the musical, or not. I've read reviews where some enjoyed it and others didn't. We enjoyed the music and dance - they were very talented.
I appreciate the Mormon's commitment to building strong families, and more often than not they have strong morals. Have you been to a Broadway play, if so, what did you see?

You two are just too cute. Haven't I said that before? I never seen The Book of Mormon but I've heard it's great!
ReplyDeleteThanks for being with us for Thoughts of Home on Thursday. We love having you. :)
I have been curious about this play so I really appreciate your review.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing at SYC!:) Jo
ReplyDeleteI have heard great things about the play, but we no longer go to live performances. The drive into Los Angeles to see plays is just too long.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing at SYC.
I have heard mixed reviews as well. It is kind of a satire that pokes a little fun at the Mormons. I am a Mormon and I can laugh at things like this. Others don't see the humor in it. I love going to live performances, but haven't seen one this year. Thanks for sharing with SYC.
