The Best from Martha Stewart Living

In this months issue of Martha Stewart Living, there are many ideas for a patriotic Independence Day. Pies anyone?

They look so delicious.

In a recent post I wrote about the importance of having breakfast, this makes my mouth water, but wait until you see the peaches (now in season). Best breakfasts from Martha Stewart.

Also in this months issue she shows a patriotic shelf, kinda cute, don't you think?

And for those who enjoy scrap booking, there are some ideas for your holiday pictures.

Ina Garten's House on Zillow

In 1978, Ina Garten left her job as a budget analyst in the White House to pursue her dream of operating a specialty food store in the Hampton's seen in the movie 'Somethings Gotta Give'. She is a frequent contributor to major national magazines and writes a recurring column in O Magazine. Her  television series can be seen on Food Network. Ina lives in East Hampton, New York, and Southport, Connecticut, with her husband, Jeffrey.

With the increased interest in Ina's television series, she built a barn to do her segments and entertain her guests. Here's a peek inside her new barn...

Stella Turns 2

Tori Spelling's daughter Stella turned 2. She had a barbie party.

The drinks tubs, even the linens were pink, and the cake was a barbie doll in an icing dress.

If Tori wasn't an actress, she'd be an awesome party planner.

Neva Scott Kitchen and accent Dining Room

What a beautiful family kitchen, with hardwood floors, stainless steel appliances and granite counter tops. This open layout includes a beautiful breakfast table, with access to the outdoor patio. The owner is Neva Scott from Richland, WA.

To maximise space, Neva uses monotone pottery a space saving trick used in set design and model homes, also by using glass canisters, it allows light and the view of the granite back splash.

Neva likes collections, she uses large cream ware to store similar collections. A large vase of wooden spoons, and delectable treats in her glassware.

In another tour home, by New Traditions homes I thought this dining room would accent well with Neva's kitchen. A light garden feel, with a comfortable wingback chair for the master, or host.

English Gardens

Having lived in a vibrant English village in Central England for over eleven years, I've 'grown' to appreciate the idyllic countryside and blossoming gardens. Above is a beautifully laid pathway, almost as if that door leads you to a secret garden. The roses are blooming in the large beds.

A paint washed fence, with beautiful pale pink roses.

Gravel pathways make gardens feel natural and the lavender is not only beautiful but leaves a lingering aroma.Must have ::large pond::

Hopefully it inspires you too!
