Happy Anniversary To My Grandparents

Good evening my dears, I just wanted to share a memory with y'all.

December 12th, was the wedding anniversary of both my maternal Nana & Granddad, and paternal Granny & Grandpa. Sadly they are no longer with us. Pictured, is my Granny leaving for a military ball back in the 1960's.

Corinthians 13:4-7

Love is patient, love is kind, it isn’t jealous, it doesn’t brag, it isn’t arrogant, it isn’t rude, it doesn’t seek its own advantage, it isn’t irritable, it doesn’t keep a record of complaints, it isn’t happy with injustice, but it is happy with the truth. Love puts up with all things, trusts in all things, hopes for all things, endures all things.

Amen.

Family-Filled Thanksgiving Part Two

Good afternoon my dears, it has been a few days since I posted Part One, of our family-filled Thanksgiving trip to Charleston, South Carolina. So today, I downloaded the rest of our pictures to share with you, so I can look back at the memories that we made.

Wednesday, November 23rd

- Breakfast at Eli's Table most definitely would recommend. -

- My mum, hubby, me, and sister -

- My mum, me, and sister -

In the South, many people paint their porch ceilings haint blue. It was originally to ward off evil spirits, called haints, but nowadays is a way of keeping with tradition, and fooling creepy crawlers to not nest, thinking the ceiling is the sky.

After making funny faces (apparently I didn't get the memo) in the park we toured the Aiken Rhett House. The house reminded me of the Charles Dickens novel, Great Expectations, where nothing has been touched since the last family lived there.

After touring the house we walked along E. Bay street to the waterfront park. There's a lot of historically preserved architecture in Charleston, South Carolina. For example look at the Corinthian columns on the United States Custom House.

At the iconic pineapple fountain. Did you know pineapples represent hospitality in the South?

-The waterfront.-

That night, we went for dinner at Charleston Grill inside the Charleston Place Hotel. I had celebrated my 29th birthday dinner there and wanted to share it with my mum, and sister. We forgot to take pictures in the restaurant, however, it was a dreamy night and the band played one of my favorite songs; The Way You Look Tonight.

Thursday, November 24th. Thanksgiving Day

- On Thanksgiving morning we had brunch, at the Charleston Grill.-

After brunch, we checked out our hotel and went to tour the gracious gardens of Magnolia Plantation.

- Camellias-

- Hubby, and me -

 Isn't this bridge magical?

What better way to celebrate Thanksgiving than with family, in one of God's most beautiful gardens. I am so thankful to have such beautiful places in this world to visit. Thank you for coming along with us on our trip to Charleston, South Carolina. After touring the plantation we headed home to go celebrate some early Christmas festivities. I'll share those celebrations in my next post.

To be continued...
